  • so, what have we been up to in the past eight-odd months?

the spring semester was mostly uneventful–a lot of practicing and learning, not much else.

in may I moved into a wonderful little house with two wonderful little housemates. my room’s all decorated with art ripped out from pages of old art books, we have a green couch and a fancy stereo and a pretty new oven and functional air conditioning and a front porch, and I can ride my bike to campus whenever I want and it is awesome.

june I got a job at a local diner. I start training to wait tables next week.

july I went to Switzerland for two weeks to play chamber music and skip around in the alps and see Paris etc etc and it was amazing and I want to go back right now right now. I got back on tuesday to jetlag and record high temperatures and work and an empty back account. huzzah.

the future–more practicing, but hopefully balanced with more time engaged in anarchic ritual fire dances and celebrations, gallavanting about in the dark, bikeriding, adventuring, etc. hoping to look into some new things–composition, jazz, conducting, musicology, more chamber music. working on integrating my art and my politics; also still working on solidifying my politics first. I have high hopes for a fantastic year.

hope to continue updating with life things and thoughts and such–no internet at the new house, but there’s plenty of free access to be had at school. I’ve only been keeping up with folks’ blogs off and on, but hope you’re all doing swimmingly. will work on catching up with everyone.

    namaste. <3
